Pastor Janice Batista’s authority was not formed in comfort.

Raised in Brooklyn, New York, she entered life marked by early loss and instability within the foster care system. As a teenager, she experienced pregnancy and domestic violence within gang-affiliated environments that exposed her to violence and survival at a young age. Her early adulthood included arrests, destructive relationships, and years spent stripping in New York City nightclubs while navigating spiritual confusion, including involvement in Santeria. These environments exposed her to chaos at close range and sharpened her discernment in ways few leaders can articulate. Her life later intersected with military culture during the Iraq War, where she served as a military wife and supported families living under the weight of deployment and battlefield realities. After losing her first husband during that era, she experienced grief not as theory but as lived reality. Living on base and surrounded by service members, she witnessed discipline, sacrifice, and structured leadership firsthand. Now married for over 20 years to a United States Marine and former military sniper, she understands both the cost of war and the necessity of order. As her ministry grew, she encountered another dimension of opposition — spiritual instability within church environments. Leading through seasons of internal resistance and repeated attempts to destabilize the church community, she developed a deeper understanding of discernment, leadership boundaries, and spiritual pattern recognition. Her teaching on “Witchcraft in the Church,” which reached viral status across digital platforms, was not rooted in spectacle but in lived leadership experience. It addressed manipulation, control, and destabilization patterns that many leaders face but few articulate publicly.

Rather than respond emotionally, she responded structurally. Her transformation was not emotional hype; it was disciplined obedience. Through sustained spiritual formation, God rebuilt what instability had fractured. The same streets that once threatened her future, the battlefield culture that exposed her to sacrifice, and the leadership pressures that tested her discernment became the foundation of her authority. Her testimony is not shock value. It is evidence. She has seen chaos in the streets, She has seen discipline in the military, She has seen loss in war and She has seen spiritual opposition inside the church walls…..And she chose structure.

Today, Pastor Janice stands not as a victim of instability, but as a leader refined by it. Her authority is shaped by lived experience, disciplined formation, and over 21 years of ministry leadership. Darkness does not intimidate a woman who has studied both chaos and order up close.
