Meet Keasha, a resilient woman of God in our DEA Mentorship whose journey is a testament to overcoming adversity and finding strength in the face of challenges. Born in the bustling city of New York City and raised in the vibrant streets of Atlanta, Keasha’s life was marked by trials from an early age. Growing up, Keasha didn’t have her father by her side due to his struggles with substance abuse. Raised by her strong-willed single mother, she faced bullying and the resentment of her brothers, all while navigating a family dynamic tainted by discord and disappointment. Tragedy struck when her beloved mother lost her battle with colon cancer in 2009, followed by the passing of her father a year later due to complications from his addictions. Left to navigate the world on her own, Keasha found herself in a tumultuous relationship with a controlling Muslim partner who sought to stifle her independence and dictate her choices. Amidst the chaos, Keasha’s Christian faith became her anchor. After a period of soul-searching, she returned to her Christian roots, finding solace in the grace of God. A transformative dream reminded her of the fragility of life, strengthening her resolve to walk a path of faith and resilience. But Keasha’s journey was far from over. She faced health challenges, including a near-fatal miscarriage and battles with lupus. Yet, through it all, she emerged stronger, her spirit unbroken. Today, Keasha stands tall as a beacon of hope and inspiration in our ministry. Embracing celibacy and focusing on self-love and spiritual growth, she is preparing herself for the future, trusting in God’s timing for new chapters in her life. Keasha’s story is a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is light to be found. Her journey of self-discovery and resilience serves as a powerful testimony, urging other women to prioritize their mental and spiritual well-being before seeking validation from other men. As Keasha continues her journey, she hopes to inspire women everywhere to connect with our DEA Ministry and embrace their worth, find strength in adversity, and let love and faith guide them towards a brighter tomorrow.
